How to link your NIN with your MTN, Glo, 9mobile or Airtel phone number

The Nigerian Identity Management Commission (NIMC) have also directed that subscribers can link their NIN to more than one sim card. They said telecom subscribers should take their NIN to the office of their service provider.

However, some Nigerians who posses NIN are still unsure how to go about linking their phone numbers to their NIN

Here are some ways to link your SIM with NiN

For Mtn users

To link your NIN to an Mtn number, simply dial *785# using the mtn phone number you wish to link, enter your NIN and submit or;

Dial *785#Your NIN# from the mtn phone number you wish to link. The number will be linked to your NIN automatically.

Visit https://mtnonline.com/nim/ using your phone or computer.

Complete the NIN linking form by entering your name, mtn phone number, NIN, and email address.

Submit the form as soon as you’re done.

Wait for feedback from the network.

Airtel users

Dial *121# on the Airtel line you wish to link.

Type 1 for “NIN Capture” and send.

Enter your 11-digit NIN and send.

Wait for the message confirming your submission. If you get an error, just wait for some time and try again.

Glo and 9mobile users

For the other networks, you simply visit the nearest office of your service provider (Glo or 9mobile) to register/link your NIN.

Go with NIN and your SIM pack or call the customer care line of your service provider.

9mobile said it is making effort to develop a system that would make things simple for its customers. You can check your NIN status by dialling *346# from your 9mobile line.

Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man, gains $915 million in Q1, now worth $20 billion

Aliko Dangote, the richest man in Africa, posted decent gains in Q1 despite increased geopolitical uncertainty and high inflation.

Bloomberg Billionaires Index data shows that the wealthiest black man in the world now has an estimated net worth of $20 billion and posted gains of about $915 million in the first quarter. Additionally, he ended the first quarter as the only African among the top 80 richest people in the world after launching a fertilizer plant last week.

The 64-year-old billionaire’s current net worth is the equivalent of 10.4 million troy ounces of gold or 191 million barrels of crude oil.

Nigeria, a crude oil refinery being built at a cost of $19 billion is not included in his wealth valuation because it is not yet operational and construction costs outweigh its current value.

Dangote was born into a wealthy Muslim family of traders in the northern part of Nigeria from where he set up his own business selling cement when he was 21 years old. His switch to manufacturing building materials in the 1990s was prompted by government policies encouraging reductions in imports.

few digital start up ideas

Digital Marketing Ideas updated... - Digital Marketing Ideas

1. Web designer or web developer

If you are a creative, digital professional who thrives on forming the layout, visual theme, font set and color palette of a website, freelance web design may be a good path for you. If you have little to no experience in this field, you can learn the basics of web design and master the tools you'll need for success, like Adobe XD, Chrome DevTools and text editor software.

If you are more interested in the coding side of building websites, freelance web development might be your wheelhouse. If you already know HTML, CSS or JavaScript and have a good eye for solving problems with creative solutions, you can launch a service to build attractive, easy-to-use websites for small businesses. If you need to learn the basics of web development before launching your full-stack career, you can take a simple beginner's course to get started.

Put your technical and creative skills to good use for business owners who want to take their online presence to the next level. Build a comprehensive portfolio, and then create your own website to show it off and attract a steady stream of clients.

2. Blogger

Blogging may seem like an outdated business strategy, since nearly everybody already has one, but the competition should not deter you from starting this online business journey. If you love writing or have important information to share, blogging may be a profitable business for you.

Starting a blog as a business is very simple with website builders like Weebly and WordPress, but the key to success is consistency and quality. To gain a steady following, you must continually write and produce high-quality content that provides value to your readers. Content that educates, informs or entertains your readers gives them a reason to follow you.

Once you've mastered the creation of consistent content, you can make money through your blog by selling products like online courses, digital coaching, e-books or webinars. You can also sell ad space or sponsored posts. This business strategy may take a little more time and effort to monetize, but it can be very profitable in the end.

3. App developer

Mobile applications are more popular than ever, with people willing to pay good money for ways to manage their lives from their smartphones. If you have a great new idea for an app and know how to code, you can run with it and create your app yourself. You can also become an app developer for businesses that need to create specific apps. Both options require you to know the basic elements of software design and at least two common programming languages, such as SQL, JavaScript, PHP, Python, Ruby on Rails or iOS.

If you have an app idea but don't know the ins and outs of coding, there are plenty of software developers looking to collaborate with people on app creation. Depending on your situation and know-how, you may be able to make a lucrative business out of app development.

#1: Create on online course

E-learning was a $250 billion industry in 2020 and is projected to become a $1 trillion industry by 2027. If you have a computer and something to say that can help people, online courses have low startup costs and high profit margins when you hit the nail on the head.

#2: Start freelancing

Online job marketplaces like Upwork and Fiverr have helped millions of freelancers supplement their income or even make a living working remotely. LinkedIn also recently launched its Services Marketplace, another sign of the dramatic shift in employment opportunities.

Freelance work is also a great compromise if you want to augment your income, but aren’t ready or interested in leaving your 9-to-5 job just yet. Contrary to popular belief, many successful entrepreneurs first tested their idea as a side hustle and validated their value proposition before making the jump.

#3: Get into e-commerce

E-commerce has become a wildly popular industry, and tools like Shopify and Fulfillment By Amazon have made it easier than ever to bring your visionary product to market in weeks or months rather than years. In fact, e-commerce companies are so in demand that venture-funded aggregators like Thrasio and Perch have burst onto the scene with the sole intention of acquiring your product-based business. Creating a product yourself also gives you the opportunity to create a brand identity along the way.

A word of caution here: E-commerce sometimes leans heavily on global supply chains running smoothly, and the last two years have been a logistics nightmare. If you choose this approach, educate yourself on the manufacturing and shipping needs your company will be responsible for.

It takes time to work out the kinks with any physical product, but once you dial your marketing and shipping efforts in, revenue and profit will start to roll in. And when you think about it, the same is true for all of the examples listed above. Put yourself out there and try something new this year; you might find yourself in the CEO seat sooner than you think.

MTN have get final licence to operate payment service bank

MTN Shares Soar on Imminent Approval for Nigeria Mobile Banking License - Bloomberg

Telecommunications giant, MTN Nigeria has been granted final approval to operate mobile money (MoMo) payment service bank (PSB) licence in Nigeria.

MTN announced, yesterday, that it has been given permission to operate the bank by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and that it would soon offer financial services under the licence requirements.

MTN Group had first announced in November 2021 its move towards getting final approval of the licence, saying it was subject to the fulfillment of certain conditions as stipulated by the CBN.

As it is, with the PSB licence, MTN Nigeria will offer a wider range of mobile financial services beyond the traditional person-to-person (P2P) MoMo mobile money transfers such as lending and bill payments.

A document sighted and signed by the Company Secretary, Uto Ukpanah, titled ‘the Central Bank of Nigeria Grants Final Approval for MoMo Payment Service Bank Limited (Momo PSB)’, reads: “We refer to our notification issued on November 5, 2001, in which we communicated receipt of the approval in principle from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for MoMo Payment Service Bank Limited (MoMo PSB).

“MTN Nigeria Communications Plc (MTN Nigeria) announces the receipt of a letter dated April 8, 2022, from the CBN addressed to Momo PSB conveying final approval to commence operations. The date of commencement will be communicated to the CBN in accordance with its requirements.

Stakeholders laud CBN's ABP impact on nigeria's Agric sector

Key agricultural stakeholders have extolled the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN’s) Anchor Borrowers’    Programme (ABP) impact on the nation’s agricultural sector.

They stated that pre-ABP saw farmers’ productivity in Nigeria hampered by a number of factors, such as poor funding, inadequate inputs, poor varieties and inability to sell produce profitably following poor access to the market.

The CBN had in line with its developmental mandates in Section 31 of the CBN Act 2007, established the Anchor Borrowers’ Programme (ABP) to create economic linkages between smallholder farmers and reputable companies (anchors) involved in the production and processing of key agricultural commodities.

The agricultural commodities covered under the ABP include among others, rice, maize, wheat, cotton, cassava, potatoes, yam, ginger, sugarcane, oil palm, cocoa, rubber, soybean, sesame seed, cowpea, tomato, fish, poultry and ruminants.

According to the policy document, the broad objective of the ABP is to create economic linkages between smallholder farmers and processors with a view to increasing agricultural output and ensuring food price stability.

Speaking at an agric event on appraising Nigeria’s agric sector performances under the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja, the President of the Cocoa Farmers Association of Nigeria (CFAN), Mr. Adeola Adegoke, disclosed that the 2020/2021 loans given to some cocoa farmers in the country via the CBN’s ABP helped to boost productivity by at least 10 per cent, with some increasing their produce from 30 to 40 bags of the cocoa beans.

The newly confirmed All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) National President, Mr. Mudi Farouk, in his own speech at the occasion stated that agriculture is now contributing three times more to the country’s GDP than oil.

Farouk said that the core of the programme is to provide loans to smallholder farmers to boost agricultural production, create jobs and reduce the food import bills.

A Representative of the Flour Millers Association of Nigeria (FMAN), Dr. Oluwasina Olabanji, who spoke on wheat production in Nigeria, said that seeds and input challenges were being addressed by CBN by providing quality seeds from Mexico.

On his part, the Vice President of Olam Agric, Mr. Reji George, said the scheme is capable of producing more crops for food and industrial uses.
